Lecture in Progress inspires and informs the next generation of talent
by providing advice and insight into the creative industry.
We’re all familiar with the well-intentioned but sad-looking wall planner hung in a corner, collecting dust. In an increasingly digital culture, they’ve become a bit of a dying breed.
So how do you fix this? Lecture in Progress and G . F Smith are looking to work with a student, graduate or emerging creative on a fully commissioned creative project to rethink the traditional academic wall planner, reinventing the classic format while remaining functional and easy to use.
About Lecture in Progress
Launched in 2017 as a sister company to It’s Nice That, Lecture in Progress is an online creative resource that inspires and informs the next generation of talent. We do this by providing information on just how many roles the industry has to offer, what it means to do those jobs, alongside advice on making your way as an emerging creative. As brand partners and supporters, this is a journey that G . F Smith have been part of from the very beginning.
About G . F Smith
For over 130 years, G . F Smith has been obsessed with the simple beauty of paper. G . F Smith is a company built on the principles of its founder, George Frederick Smith – nurturing remarkable people, building loyal, long-lasting relationships and cultivating a desire to search out and bring the very best to the marketplace.
Last year, we had the pleasure of teaming up with design studio B.A.M. to create a series of wall planners, printed on G . F Smith paper. After the success of this first run, we wanted to offer up the same opportunity to an emerging creative.
The selected creative will want to consider how the wall planner is used, both as a planner and a physical object in shared spaces, as well as the kinds of issues facing current students and how we can help them plan their time, factoring in time for work and rest.
The chosen creative will benefit from:
– A fully paid commission
– 8,000 copies of your design printed and distributed to universities and stockists across the UK
– A feature on lectureinprogress.com
– Complimentary production of a G . F Smith Make Book, according to your own design and requirements
– A bespoke G . F Smith Make Frame created free of charge
– Unlimited Plus Membership to Lecture in Progress, worth £35 annually
